Have you guys seen this yet? I think it's pretty cool and it's called YouMail.com:)). YouMail is a free service that essentially becomes your new cell phone voice mail provider. You can record a unique VM greeting for any number that's called you before. Listen to your message from a friend, then push 88 to record a custom greeting! Also, record your greetings on the phone or the computer. Save your voice messages forever in your YouMail account, and then forward them to any email address!! See your call history for all incoming calls on your account page and then your literally two clicks away from recording a custom greeting. If you don't have a microphone for your computer, it's just as easy on your cell phone. Currently the service only works with Verizon, Cingular and T-Mobile.
I really like this service, and wonder what their revenue model is for a service like this? But then producing "...customer call center and telephony integration software" is exactly what YouMail creator Zeacom, Inc is all about. I would love to see more companies like this pop up and spit out innovative products around current market frustrations, such as the cellular industry. The strong grip wireless companies have on the cell phone market is quite frustrating. As industries like this grow, it seems that usually the fierce competition would drive prices down and service quality up, but I'm just not seeing that as a consumer.
